Bunin Readings
Iv. Bunin
"Tombs, mummies and comes are silent -
To Word alone is life bestowed:
Out of the ancient darkness, on the world's graveyard.
Only WrittenCharacters resound.
The International Bunin Prize and Bunin Readings are undergoing a major reboot. We are combining the classical traditions of university scholarship with the digital opportunities of the age.
We are retracing the cultural and scholarly threads that connect key points in the writer's life – from "Bunin's Moscow" to his itineraries in Grasse and Paris.
The readings will be a meeting place for leading young scholars, cultural leaders, and members of our "Friends Club" – patrons of the arts who support the development of humanities.
The Bunin Readings are held in the context of the Bunin Prize and address the challenges of developing cultural ties between countries.
The works of the Bunin Prize laureates and shortlisted writers will be included in the project's international digital Almanac, ensuring recognition in the global academic community.
